Priya Venkataraman

Priya Venkataraman, a well-known exponent of Bharatanatyam has performed for US President Barrack Obama's official visit to India in 2010, program for the Royal couple in Bhutan, 2011; Black Arts Festival, Senegal; International Festival of Bangkok, 2010; Jeonjhu Sori International Festival, South Korea; Festival of India, Bogota, Colombia and has toured extensively in North America, West Indies, Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea, and Africa. Her recent shows include: Ananya Dance Festival 2011, Khajuraho Nritya Samaroh 2012, Inaugural day of Mudra Festival, 2010, International Dance Day celebrations in April 2012 in Patna organized by the Bihar Sangeet Natak Akademi and the Nishagandhi Dance Festival 2013. A recipient of two prestigious fellowships from the Illinois Arts Council and several Master-apprentice awards from IAC, Priya is now based in New Delhi. Priya and her ensemble will present traditional dance items from the Bharatanatyam repertoire' for her Europe tour (march 20- april 10).

With immense pleasure, we invite you to Anwesha, the techno-cultural festival of IIT Patna.

From a humble beginning in 2010, Anwesha has evolved into a symbol that now captivates the young minds of the country.

Anwesha'12 organised solely by IIT Patna's student community, turned out to be one of East India's biggest techno-cultural festivals. The event witnessed pro-active participation from various colleges of the nation and experienced an unprecedented footfall on all three days. The figures are expected only to grow with this year's edition of the fest.

Eminent personalities such as the Chief Minister of Bihar Sh. Nitish Kumar, Padma Vibhushan G. Madhavan Nair, Former Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). "The Dolphin Man of India" Prof. R.K. Sinha and Prof m.K. Sinha have been a part of the Anwesha Extravaganza in the past.

Anwesha is a conglomeration of events that draw from diverse academic disciplines, ranging from the engineering sciences to the visual and performing arts. In addition, the fest is a cultural delight that takes entertainment to a new level not only through student performances, but also through its pro-nites that have included live performances by the likes of rock band Sifar and Faridkot, Ghazal singer Nishant Akshar, Hindi poet Dr. Kumar Vishwas.
